Michael Gutmann

Who are you and what do you do here?

- I am Michael Gutmann, I was born in Basel , Switzerland , 29 years ago. Here, I am doing computational neuroscience with Aapo Hyvärinen.

What is your background, how did you find your way here?

-I was here in 2004, working for my Master's thesis with Aapo. I liked it here, so after doing my PhD in Tokyo on data representation with dynamical neuron models, I have come back here. For my masters, I have studied electrical engineering in ETH Zürich and general engineering in Paris . I was in a double degree programme.

- I have played the clarinet and practiced karate since childhood. I also like philosophy of mind.
