SUOMEKSI: Laskuharjoitukset ja viikkotehtävät
Tehtävät ovat saatavilla vain englanniksi. Niihin voi vastata harjoitusryhmän kielellä. Toinen ryhmistä kokoontuu suomeksi ja toinen englanniksi.Laskuharjoitustehtävistä on saatavilla yhteensä 0-6 pistettä. Tämä pistemäärä lasketaan harjoitusaktiivisuudesta, eli lähinnä etukäteen kotona tehtyjen tehtävien määrästä.
Lisäksi kurssilla on kolme erikseen paperilla palautettavaa tehtävää. Näistä saa kurssin suorituspisteitä 0-4p per palautettu tehtävä. Tehtävien arvostelussa kiinnitetään huomiota vastauksen kattavuuteen ja omaan ajatteluun. Puhtaasti kopioimalla ei saa täysiä pisteitä. Näistä muodostuu siis 20% kurssin kokonaispistemäärästä.
Palautettavat tehtävä ovat yleensä kaksiosaisia. Ensimmäinen osa on kyseisiä viikkoja koskeva oppimispäiväkirja ja toinen osa on tyyppillisesti johonkin artikkeliin perustuva oma teksti.
ENGLISH: Weekly exercise questions
The problems are given only in English. Most of the questions are from the course book.You are expected to solve the questions in advance. You will earn points for the course based on your activity in the class and the number of questions solved in advance. This way you can collect 0-6 points for the course.
Every second week there is also a special task, that must be returned on paper. With these submissions you can collect points for passing the course. Each submitted paper will give you 0-4 points. The evaluation of the answer is based on the content and your own presentation in the answer. Pure copying does not earn points. You need to demonstrate your own thinking.
These special tasks usually have two parts. The first part is a learning diary considering the two week period. The second part is commonly own text or essay based on a scientific article.
You need (at least to try hard) to solve the homework questions in advance, that is before the meeting. In the meeting we will discuss about the questions and their solutions. There is no time to solve them there. Solutions to the homework are not provided afterwards.
The weekly meetings are important for your learning. They give you structure for the course and support you in learning the content. They also give you hints about the exam and its questions.
During the meeting, you will also have possibility to ask about the parts you feld were difficult to understand. This is your opportunity to make sure that you master the content well.
