Teaching
The Hecse graduate school arranged the high-end SADA summer school in June. An international group of students and teachers took the waterbus from Vuosaari to central Helsinki to the Rector's reception.
The teaching at the Department of Computer Science is arranged by sub-programmes; in 2007 these sub-programmes were entitled Algorithms, Distributed systems and data communications, Information management, and Intelligent systems. In the latter part of the year, a reformation of the sub-programmes was launched, which will result in three sub-programmes when it is implemented: Algorithms and machine learning, Distributed systems and data communications, and Software systems. The Master's programme in Bionformatics (MBI), a joint venture between the University of Helsinki and Helsinki University of Technology, is also coordinated by the department.
