Participants in the course on artificial intelligence had a project programming vacuum-cleaner robots that competed on a track with obstacles. As its eyes, a vacuum-cleaner robot uses a camera phone.
The sub-programmes are in charge of instruction in computer science. The teaching based on research is divided into the sub-programmes of algorithms, intelligent systems, software engineering, distributed systems and data communication, and information management. An international Master's programme is in charge of the instruction in bioinformatics.
In 2006, the department was elected one of the national centres of excellence in university education.
