I am attempting to boot 2.5.58 vanilla on an HP3000 U3 with on-board
adaptec controller. It won't boot past the SCSI initialization.
It run's great, even under high loads, with 2.4.20aa2 which is running
driver version 6.2.8 (according to boot logs). It also has run fine under
every Red Hat kernel so far (all 2.4.18-xxx).
System is dual 866 Pentium III, 2gb ram. Kernel is compiled with:
gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-112)
(/proc/pci output and .config follow the serial-console bootup capture)
