Ok, to sum up problems:
With redhat kernels:
* Disks found, _but_ after about 2-3 mins with heavy I/O on
FC HBA's the machine dies, and only thing working is cold boot
With vanilla kernels:
* Disks not found, so we don't know about I/O problems.
Anyone have any ideas?
