Telecom perspectives on open distributed processing
Abstract
Telecom networks depend on particular forms of distributed processing.
Examples include control plane (e.g. SS7) and management plane (e.g.
TMN). On the other hand several new developments in distributed
processing (e.g. CORBA) originate from corporate computer networks.
Higher level of integration between existing and new technologies will
be achieved, but many issues are still open. The purpose of this talk is
to outline some industrial perspective into acronyms such as TINA,
DAVIC, MMCF and IETF.
