Erratic keyboard behavior in 2.5.67

Something dealing with the keyboard is misbehaving. Every once in a
while, a key is repeated about 4-8 times very fast, much faster than
the X key repeat. Any ideas what causes this? The PS/2 mouse also
feels faster than under 2.4.
