Here the slablru patch ported to 2.5.30. Thanks go out to Andrew Morton for
his gentle help improving the patch, to Craig Kulesa for the initial port to
2.5-full-rmap and to Rik van Riel for proding me to move the pages to the lru.
This version changes a few things
1. The api for kmem_cache_create was changed (2.5 only) to pass the pruner
callback (Andrew's suggestion). This means we can scrap the kmem_set_pruner
function.
2. The locking in two functions was changed to protect us in interrupts - there
was a small window for deadlocks (Andrew again).
3. I also added shmem to the list of caches using the age_icache_memory callback.
The inodes will get pruned without it but at a much slower (and unfair) rate.
4. The patch now handles caches where gfporder != 0 more fairly. It now uses
the first page of these slabs for reference bit seting and testing. Older versions
of the patch pruned these slabs too quickly.
5. The inactive list is used to store slab pages. With the aa+rmap vm this works
more effectively.
6. It contains the fixes found with slablru for 2.5-full-rmap for SMP and dquota.
I have also updated the 2.4 version of the patch which can be pulled from
bk://casa.dyndns.org:3334/linux-2.4-rmap
Rik can we get this into your 2.4 rmap tree?
I tested with 2.5.29+ up to Trond's RCP fix, since 2.5.30 stalls my box at
boot (It seems I get 'impossible' results from ide dma...).
This is posted so the patch can get wider testing. Once Andrew, Rik and friends
are happy we can push to towards Linus.

Ed Tomlinson
