Here we have stuff skipped that kbuild-2.5 does for us.
You will need this patch in generic for kbuild-2.5.
You should have the other patches, too! You can compile a kernel
with only this patch, but it's meaningless. I suggest retrieving
the whole kbuild-2.5 patchset.
