You should teach the guy about MTAs one day.
Softupdates and other filesystems are perfectly
safe with mailers which work with the filesystem
instead of prescribing the filesystem authors
how they should do their work ;)
Oh, most of those other mailers are RFC compliant
too, but that's a separate issue ;)
