Do not diff the trees - diff the tars!
(most files in the tree is so small that they fit well in the 31 pages)
Even the tars might be to small for a second run (fits in memory...)

/dev/hda:
multcount = 16 (on)
I/O support = 0 (default 16-bit)
unmaskirq = 0 (off)
using_dma = 1 (on)
keepsettings = 0 (off)
nowerr = 0 (off)
readonly = 0 (off)
readahead = 8 (on)
geometry = 5606/255/63, sectors = 90069840, start = 0
ok, so I did not have 32 bit nor unmaskirq turned on... should it matter?
