UHCS-Women members and sisters
Lea Kutvonen
- Bio:
Docent, university lecturer, research group leader.
My background is in distributed systems, and I run the CINCO research group that does research on inter-organisational service collaborations and service ecosystems.
I manage the BSc thesis course (in Finnish) and supervise plenty of MSc theses.
- Sister:
The number of female actors in computer science, engineering and in overall in STEM area is too low. To improve the situation we need to collectively create structures to support the newcomers on the field.
I want to establish a big-sister, little-sister network reaching all staff levels and also to potential students. Besides this network, I have very recently taken on the Linkki resource center, an outreach for children and teenagers.

available also in IRCnet, using a nickname Snorri and tutoring, for

department issues) and #tkt-akat (a discussion forum just for females).
Or just knock my door in D213.

- Sister:
I would like to volunteer as a big sister for fresh PhD students or masters students interested in pursuing doctoral studies. I am now at the latter stage of my PhD. I have mentored and provided guidance to some of the new comers to our group. I am interested in helping out any one who needs assistance in getting familiarized with the university environment, PhD life in Uni. of Helsinki, and also provide any other information they need.

Hanna Mäenpää
- Bio:
I am a Doctoral student student from the Software Systems Engineering line. My research topic deals with the crowdsourcing phenomenon and especially the relationship of companies and open source communities. I am also a fan of Arduinos, robots, the maker lifestyle, gardening and all things Zen.
- Sister:
Currently I am mentoring a couple of persons and hope not to accept new people. However, mind my message: I believe there is no segregation based on gender on what people can do and how powerful they can be in their careers. I have been privileged to have three female mentors who have showed me the way and I hope to pass the same message forward.
