• Makoto Murata does fundamental work on transformations that would yield also the schema for the transformed document:
  • His SGML/XML'97 paper DTD Transformation by Patterns and Contextual Conditions. Also the slides of Murata's talk are available on-line.
  • His manuscript Forest-regular languages and tree-regular languages presents the mathematical foundations of his pattern-based transformations, which he presented at the PODDP'96 workshop.
