Admission results for the University of Helsinki
The Faculty of Science of the University of Helsinki has decided on 4 April 2007 to admit 13 new students to begin their studies in the MBI Programme in Autumn 2007. The list of admitted students, who gave their permission for disclosing their names on the web, is available here.
Results of admission to Helsinki University of Technology will be available later.
Applying to the University of Helsinki (International applicants)
Application period to the programme has ended. Thank you for all who applied to the Programme!
In addition to the online form, you have to enclose the documents which are specified by the online application system. The following enclosures will be required to the University of Helsinki:
- Your school-leaving certificate or diploma from a high school or (upper) secondary school
- Your degree certificate from a higher education institution
- Your academic study transcript, which indicates the grading system of the higher education institution
- Test score of a language test you have taken. Please read the instructions of the International Admissions Service for information on how to provide the test score. The test score is required to be valid and current (that is, not expired).
- Letter of motivation
- Passport photo
- University course descriptions (optional but recommended)
Please note the following regulations concerning the enclosures.
- All enclosures must be legalised by the institution that has issued the original document or by a public notary.
- All obligatory enclosures must be in Finnish, Swedish or English.
- All translations must be done by official translators. The translations must bear the stamp and signature of the translator.

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. The following standardised tests and corresponding minimum grades and scores will be accepted. Test scores must be sent directly to the University of Helsinki. The TOEFL code of the University of Helsinki is 9872.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
- 237 points on computer-based test (CBT) or
- 580 points on paper-based test (PBT) or
- 92 points on Internet-based test (iBT)
- Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): passing level A, B or C
- Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): passing level A, B or C
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS): grade 6.5
- Language Centre (University of Helsinki): level 5 (average of test units)
- General language degree: level 5 (average of test units)
Proficiency in the English language can also be demonstrated in the following ways.
- High school or upper secondary education completed (in English) in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Great Britain, Ireland, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand; or
- a Bachelor's or Master's degree completed in English in an EU or ETA country, or United States, Canada, Australia or New Zealand
