Evaluation of OMG, ODMG, X.500, and X.700 Data ModelsJuha Taina: Evaluation of OMG, ODMG, X.500, and X.700 Data Models. Report C-1994-54, Department of Computer Science, University of Helsinki, November 1994. 47 pages. <http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/TR/C-1994/54> Full paper: gzip'ed Postscript file AbstractDatabase access in Intelligent Networks plays a significant role in the whole communications system. Still in the current ITU-T recommendations the database access models are left open. The documented areas of the ITU-T recommendations are all based on object oriented approach. Thus an object oriented approach to the database access is a logical decision. We examined different object models that can be used in the IN database. The models examined are Object Management Architecture from the Object Management Group, Object Database Management Group Standard, Open systems Directory Recommendation (X.500), and Open Systems Management Recommendation (X.700.) This raport summarizes the models. It is intented to offer a compact reference to the models. Index Terms
