HPGIN-Linux: Implementing I2O Extensions for Linux |
- Objectives
- This research group implemented I2O extensions into Linux and added support for I2O compliant Gigabit Ethernet networking adapters. Message passing and resource management are the basis for communication between I2O devices and I/O processors. Above them it will be easy to add new I2O drivers for various types of adapters: only the new adapter class specific OS Services Module (OSM) needs to be added.

The I2O code is embebbed into the Linux 2.4 kernel series, see
subtree drivers/message/i2o.
-
I2Outils-0.3.0.tar.gz,
this file contains a html-based I2O Configuration Utility.
This Utility is used to manage IOP's Software (DDM downloads,
removals etc.) and to set IOP and HDM parameters.
To set OSM parameters, use I2O proc filesystem.
