Registration at the department
First, choose which courses you would like to take.All registration for computer science courses should be done using the Computer Registration System ILMO. Please see the Studies page of the department. Registration usually starts in the beginning of September (for Autumn term, 1st quarter courses), in early October (for Autumn term, 2nd quarter courses), on 10 January (Spring term; 1st quarter courses), and in late February or in the beginning of March (Spring term; 2nd quarter courses). On the first registration days in September or January registration is usually only possible on the computers at the department. Registration for students minoring in CS usually begins one day later than for those majoring in CS. For exact dates, see Computer Registration System ILMO.
You register for a course by choosing an exercise session group (Finnish harjoitusryhmä) for your class (see teaching program in Studies page If the group is already full, you must register for the overflow group (in Finnish ylivuotoryhmä).
Postgraduate studies: For the HeCSE and ComBi courses organised by outside instances, please contact the instructor or the appropriate department. Verify times and places from either the notice boards at our department, or directly from HeCSE/ComBi.
No other registration (than for the courses you wish to take) is required at the department (but please visit the Foreign Student Advisor anyway).
